Hard rock in substrata created challenges for the West Linn High School project. Care was taken to minimize the depth of new underground designs to reduce excavation costs. To accommodate extensive remodeling of the existing high school, Don Cushing Associates evaluated different alternatives to utilize as much of the existing infrastructures as possible to reduce project costs. The parking lot was created on a rock bluff. This project was completed in conjunction with Dull Olson Weekes Architects and required coordination with the City of West Linn, the Heery Management Group, and the contractor.
